Ian Tindale was awarded the Pianist’s Prize in the 2017 Wigmore Hall/Kohn Foundation Song Competition following performances with soprano Harriet Burns. He has also won accompaniment prizes at the Kathleen Ferrier Awards, Royal Overseas League Music Competition, Gerald Moore Award and Maggie Teyte Competition. Ian’s recent engagements have included concerts at Wigmore Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, and St John’s Smith Square, as well as at the Oxford Lieder Festival, Ryedale Festival and Buxton Festival with artists such as Christopher Purves, Nicky Spence, Anna Harvey, Ailish Tynan, Rowan Pierce, Louise Alder, Soraya Mafi and Nick Pritchard. He has performed on BBC Radio 3 and on BBC2. Prior to postgraduate study at the Royal College of Music (with Simon Lepper, Roger Vignoles and John Blakely), Ian read Music at Selwyn College, Cambridge, and graduated with a double First in 2011. Ian is a Britten-Pears Young Artist and a Samling Artist, and he continues to work as a pianist and coach with Samling Academy.
